Schoten was\u00a0een plattelandsgemeente en had rond 1900 zo\u2019n 600 inwoners. Na 1900 veranderde\u00a0het karakter van het dorp echter snel. De stad Haarlem annexeerde het dorp in 1927\u00a0en Schoten werd omgevormd tot een nieuw stadsdeel; Haarlem-Noord.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Dat nieuwe stadsdeel had ook scholen nodig. Dit boek gaat over de geschiedenis van\u00a0de scholen die toen werden gesticht: de Tweede HBS-B, het Lorentzlyceum en de\u00a0Klaas de Vriesschool.
